Richard Meredith
Board Member
Richard Meredith is a former member of H.M. Diplomatic Service. His public career encompassed positions in the Treasury and Cabinet Office, as well as overseas assignments in Central America and the US, in Germany and in Africa. He was closely engaged in South Africa during South Africa’s democratisation process and in the Zimbabwe crisis. He also led the cross-government terrorist finance team in the aftermath of 9/11. He served as director of communications for national security.
Following his public service career, Richard spent 7 years as partner with Brunswick Group, the global communications firm, leading their corporate crisis management team, and building their family business and foundations practice. He led the communications team supporting the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation worldwide and was an advisor to a number of global companies and business families. He also led the communications for Saudi Aramco’s IPO. Richard also spent three years as senior advisor to Larry Ellison in building his philanthropic vision, and to Michael Milken, in building his Center for Advancing the American Dream in Washington D.C. Richard continues to advise a series of philanthropists in S.E. Asia, Africa and the US on their communications and philanthropic strategies. He has been on the board and chair of a number of UK charities.
He was educated at Trinity Cambridge, where he was a Choral Scholar, and at Rice University Texas. He has four children and lives in Oxfordshire.
