Board Member
Alison Gowman is a consultant with the international law firm, DLA Piper UK LLP, specialising in real estate.
Over a 30-year career, she has acted on numerous major commercial property transactions, specialising in landlord and tenant matters and waste management.
She is an elected Alderman of the City of London representing Dowgate Ward. She served in the office of Sheriff of the City of London in 2021/22.
She is a member of the Bridge House Estates Board and its funding committee that operates as City Bridge Trust. She has chaired and taken leadership roles at City Bridge Trust over 7 years and now leads on its sustainability agenda.
She is a Governor of the Museum of London and Museum of London Archaeology.
Alison has worked on the sustainability agenda for many years and was a founder NED of the Green Finance Institute, promoting green finance with a particular engagement in Latin America.
She chairs the Active City Network, a business network that encourages safe walking and cycling in the City to create healthy streets and promote wellbeing. She is also the Chair of London Road Safety Council.

Matthew Bowcock CBE

Matthew Bowcock co-founded the Beacon Collaborative with Cath Dovey. He has been Chairman of UK Community Foundations, a Council Member of Arts Council England and a trustee of The Philanthropy Workshop and Philanthropy Impact. Matthew is currently Deputy Chair of the Watts Gallery Artists Village. In 2012 he authored a report for the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, “Digital Giving in the Arts – Democratising Philanthropy.” Through the family foundation, the Hazelhurst Trust, he has focused on community projects, arts for social impact and developing more and better philanthropy. His background is in technology entrepreneurship, company start-up and investment and he has established several businesses in Australia, the US and the UK.
